this is a very peculiar poster due to the title has red around it therefore symbolising blood even more so it says he had the perfect life before he became a hero replicating that he is being punished for doing something positive therefore Karma is returning back on him due to the violence he brought upon others in the past to become a hero. Finally the poster makes evident that the gun has the most power therefore control over everything else within the film defining he does not hold the outcome that is dependent to the gun.
the opening scene is defined through 3 major aspects; Editing, Camera & Sound.
at the start of the film the sound is digetic the drilling therefore blocks out the repercussions so nobody can hear he noises of the people as they are being killed the straightening of the chair is to replicate they wasn't there the way of which the manor they are dressed describes but also shows them to be quite ordinary people of which the characters can hear as well as the audience, in addition the dialogue between the two men is interlinked furthermore as all 3 where there waking slowly to the car the editing amongst the clip is slow even more so the camera is a steady cam where its moving away from them at the same time of it being a medium shot. Also when he moves the car this is a straight cut along with a tracking shot and the digetic sound of the radio in the car as well as the digetic sound of the car. This is then a jump cut as it jumps from him falling asleep to him cutting how instantaneously to show time has passed via the noise of the lorry which is non digetic as only the audience are able to hear this thus it was supplemented in. Finally when he goes into the motel reception at the phone box in the motel it dos a pan shot up-down and left-right to add effects the music is non digetic as it's a backing sound track used to build up tension which starts after he sees the blood but also the cuts between each bit become faster replicating something is going to occur then the movement of the rubbish cart to discover the bodies where they had been murdered there is also a non digetic sound of which is the fly sound which implicates there dead bodies rotting etc...Furthermore as he feels up the water it shows a low angle shot of which the little girl walks out it then shows a point of view shot of him looking at the girl. He calms the girl down so it does not disrupt anybody or enable anybody to hear thus as the gun is pulled out pointing at her then an extreme close up of the gun is used t show the gun has the power of the situation and to emphasis its authority as it's the biggest thing there then the gun shot is a digetic sound furthermore the scream is of anxiety and far as the gun is shot thus killing her.
starts of with a voice over about the sheriff and how this used to be a peaceful place however now it's no longer peaceful have to be weary carrying guns whereas before they never had to. But it furthermore is evident that within the title it says "there are no clean getaways" meaning that everything bad committed has its comeuppance eventually.
In the opening scene it's set in the desert about how it's empty therefore vulnerability anything can happen but also there is no help or anyone to save anything from bad happening, it is evident that a mysteriously weird object is taken from the guy when he is arrested therefore leaving suspense to find out what this object is thus as his taken back when the officer is on the on the phone we can see the guy moving closer as of which the camera is then zooming in to an close up adding tension but also the music tells us that something bad is going to happen. Even more so this happens just after he replies with he has it under control showing that this is not the case therefore miss leading. it goes to a high angle shot to show his vulnerable and weak furthermore goes to a extreme close up of the handcuffs strangling him to add more effect, there is digetic sound of shoes screeching across the floor. furthermore it goes into a pitless gaze of the killer shows the thrilling and excitement & pleasure he is getting from this thus once his killed him the heavy breathing to show his exhilarated. Then he pretends to be a police officer as he pulls somebody over in there car by putting the sirens on to indicate for them to pull over, in addition the guy in the car does not know he is a psychopathic killer therefore the audience know something bad is going to happen whilst he guy gets out of the car as requested by the killer he then shoots him with the oxygen tank and pipe which is then revealed to us therefore the suspense for wondering what it was has now gone as we know it's a gun.
the bridge is hidden therefore shows a sense of mystery meaning everything is unclear about what is happening but even more so why it is happening. this is based on a true story therefore factual events being retold, Romantic music used therefore setting the tone to be a love scene therefore going to a quiet spot for lovers. the women is married which is the dialogue. As they drive the car is tracked via a tracking shot however they're conversation is an over the shoulder camera shot suspense builds up when fireworks thrown at car leading to think that's the the thing which is happening however this is a start of a chain of events which occur. even more so after this a black tinted out car then appears and stops behind them it shows the characters from a high angle shot to suggest there vulnerable and add more tension but as the car then drives on it becomes apparent she knows who it is in the car at which time the car then drives back to introduce a sense of panic by the music within therefore non digetic sound also at which a torch shines light blinding them to keep the persons identity mystery but also emphasising the tension to which the audience can see something bad is going to occur at which point they are blocked in by the car therefore say cannot escape there fate of which them dying.
