Thrillers consist of many aspects however some of the main features which make thrillers unique on the other hand is through such things as Fast pacing therefore building up dramatic suspense to the audience, frequent action which is used to keep the audience drawn in and interested as well as so they do not lose interest within the film. it also includes resourceful heroes who have to foil the plans of the villains when they are at a disadvantage as they are basically handicapped this is because the villains are better equipped. furthermore thrillers are a villain driven plot therefore the villain makes the plot as it goes along

Thrillers use such devices as suspense which keeps the audience wondering when something is going to occur but in addition they include red herrings which is where not only are characters fooled but also the audience as well. Also cliff hangers are used to add more suspense for example such films as Sky fall which has loads of cliff hangers for example jumping out of sky scrapers etc. even more so they usually take place within exotic settings including foreign countries not in dull areas. however frequently in thrillers are "hard men" accustomed to danger for example police men. on the other hand they may also be ordinary citizens drawn into danger by accident.

While such heroes have traditionally been men, women lead characters have become increasingly common as time has gone on an early example Sigourney Weaver character, Ripley in the movie Alien 1979. on the contrary thrillers can also overlap with mystery stories but are distinguished by the structure of their plots. 

The hero must thaw the future plans of an enemy rather than uncover a crime which has already been committed. an example is a murder mystery would be spoiled by knowing the murderers identity. 
Danger & violent confrontations are standard plot elements of a thriller. the climax to a mystery is when the mystery is solved but the climax of a thriller is when the hero defeats the villain as well saving the lives of others.

there are several types of thrillers here are a list of examples: Legal thrillers, spy thrillers, action adventure thrillers, medical thrillers, police thrillers, political thrillers, religious thrillers, high-tech thrillers & military thrillers these are just a few different genres of the broad variety amongst the thriller genre comity.
